Dear Society,
There is something quite special in open palms, in listening ears, in hearts that never learned how to say no.
But for many of us, this special factor becomes heavy over time. We give until our edges blur. We smooth every surface, soothe every worry, and fit ourselves into every space except our own.
We learn early that caring is giving. We become dependable. Easygoing. The strong one. The accommodating one. The one who keeps everything running smoothly.
But somewhere along the way, something subtle shifts: others start needing us, not just appreciating us. We start equating self-sacrifice with love. We confuse overextending with loyalty. And we forget that we are also someone worth serving.
So right now, in this soft moment, I want to whisper something important… you have permission to choose yourself. This is not selfish, nor betrayal, nor guilt, but growth and devotion.
