Dear Society,
Managing one’s emotions can be an overwhelming task. This task can be even more of a challenge for us females. While I hate to segment us out, it does seem factual.
Personally, I’ve been struggling with this sort of management. At times it seems like I need to do more than manage my emotions but to overcome them. While I have no issue acknowledging my emotions and feelings, I tend to let them interfere with logic and at times even come in the way of decision-making. Acknowledging this is the first step but I’ve moved forward to the step of fixing this habit that at times I view as a setback.
I’ve made it a habit to call myself out.
Ask others for consideration and feedback.
Most importantly, practice patience with myself. To give myself the time to process my emotions so I can clearly see logic and make sound decisions.
Lastly, I am okay with this process. I try not to criticize myself hard on this and just view it as a needed uncomfortable change.
