Dear Society,
Our families are all filled with unique experiences, history, and traditions. With this being said, I find it odd that society tends to portray a one size fits all image of what our families should look like.
Two parents, multiple kids, the family dog, all enclosed in a white picket fence. This representation of family is quickly becoming obsolete. Yet alone, this inaccurate representation casts out the majority of our society – friends, independent single females and males, LGBTQ families, adopted/foster families, divorced families, the list goes on and on.
Don’t let society’s general false image of family affect what is so irreplaceable about your family.
