Dear society,
It seems as if the “trend” of shopping black-owned is no longer a trend. It seems as if this shopping habit is here to stay. As a black entrepreneur and a black-owned shopper, I encourage us to continue.
Black-owned businesses are one of the few, if not only, validated ways to elevate the tone of our society’s standing.
By maintaining our dollars within our community, we can do far more than “build wealth”. We can build confidence, create change, and be heard from an economic standpoint.
Yes, I do shop all sorts of brands. But I make it a constant habit to shop from companies owned by individuals who represent me and truly value the dollars I work so hard to earn.
This is a habit of mine regardless of trends or recent political/social events.
I do so because I believe in it.
As a black entrepreneur myself, I encourage you to add the habit of shopping black to your spending habits. Incorporate black-owned brands throughout your day-to-day. I encourage you to partake in and adapt to this newfound lifestyle starting today.
