Dear Society,
As a young black female who is currently adulting, I find that society places an unmeasurable amount of pressure at this delicate phase of life. With deadlines, depictions, and judgment, I’ve noticed that these fundamental years can easily be more daunting than enjoyable.
Adulting has been an obstacle in itself for me. Trying to find a balance amongst this everlasting list…
Financial stability, work-life balance, love…
But this list was handed down to me from a cookie-cutter society.
As I realize that this list wasn’t created by me, my views and beliefs of adulting have changed. This journey will now consist of me comparing myself to no one other than my past self, setting goals that achieve true happiness, facing obstacles head-on, and taking time to soak up the sun rays of my youth.
